In Jerusalem, the Holy Temple is the hearth of Jerusalem’s economy. The Holy Temple is considered the only place where Israelis could sacrifice animals as offerings to God. The foreigners coming from all over the world would buy animals from Jerusalem and sacrifice them at the Holy Temple. The parts of those animal that weren't sacrificed were left for people to feast on.
